Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Bouguemez Valley
Departure from Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains toward the remote Ait Bouguemez Valley (“Happy Valley”). Scenic drive through Berber villages and terraced fields. Meet your trekking guide and mule team. Dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse.
Day 2: Ait Bouguemez – Azib n’Tisselt
Start trekking through lush valleys and dramatic mountain landscapes. Cross streams and trails lined with walnut and apple trees. Arrive at Azib n’Tisselt for dinner and overnight camping.
Day 3: Azib n’Tisselt – Tizi n’Oughbar Pass – Mgoun Base
Ascend toward Tizi n’Oughbar Pass, enjoying panoramic mountain views. Descend to the base of Mount Mgoun. Dinner and overnight in a mountain camp.
Day 4: Mgoun Summit Area – Ait Bouguemez Plateau
Early morning optional ascent toward Mount Mgoun (4,071 m) for experienced trekkers. Return to the base and trek across alpine meadows and remote Berber villages on the plateau. Dinner and overnight in a campsite.
Day 5: Ait Bouguemez Plateau – Imilchil Valley
Continue trekking through valleys, past highland lakes, and scenic passes to reach the Imilchil Valley, famous for its traditional Berber culture. Dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse.
Day 6: Imilchil – Assaka Valley
Trek through the Assaka Valley, exploring remote trails, ancient villages, and pastoral landscapes. Enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas peaks. Dinner and overnight in a camp or guesthouse.
Day 7: Assaka Valley – Marrakech
End the trek with a scenic descent through the mountains. Transfer back to Marrakech, arriving in the evening.
