6-Day Desert Tour – Discover Morocco’s Sahara Wonders from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Departure from Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, then continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit Taourirt Kasbah and enjoy an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley

After breakfast, drive through the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses. Discover traditional kasbahs and palm groves before arriving at the spectacular Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight in a charming guesthouse.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

Travel to the impressive Todra Gorges, famous for their towering canyon walls. Continue towards Merzouga, passing through Berber villages. In the afternoon, enjoy a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Overnight in a luxury desert camp with dinner and Berber music.

Day 4: Merzouga – Desert Exploration

Explore the Sahara by 4x4: visit nomad families, Gnawa villages, and the seasonal Lake of Merzouga. Experience local culture and traditions. Free time to relax or enjoy sandboarding. Dinner and overnight at the camp or desert hotel.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

Depart Merzouga and visit the traditional Rissani market. Drive through the scenic Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest palm valley. Return to Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for photos and local cooperatives. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
